Are you looking for free cell phone service in Pennsylvania? The Affordable Connectivity Program provides vouchers for eligible households and families. They may use the vouchers at any participating provider to get reduced-cost wireless. Furthermore, they can use a $100 coupon to pay for a cell phone.

If you were enrolled in the Emergency Broadband Benefit program, it is now defunct. EBB subscribers had until December 31, 2021, to switch to the ACP. Regardless, ACP services and devices are dependent on consumer eligibility and provider participation.

Program Eligibility

Not everyone qualifies to receive a free phone and reduced-cost broadband. However, there are two ways that you can check to see if you do. The simplest way is by looking at your income and comparing it to the federal poverty guidelines. If you earn 135% of the federal poverty limit or less, then you qualify. For a three-person household, you must bring in less than $32,600 annually. If you are the head of a four-person household, you must earn less than $39,700.

Some people may not be aware of their yearly income, but that does not mean they do not qualify. If they participate in any of the following programs, then they should still apply:

  • Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program
  • Medicaid
  • Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
  • Supplemental Security Income
  • Section 8
  • Women, Infants, and Children Program
  • National School Lunch Program

Qualifying individuals will receive subsidized cell phone service and broadband service. They may also receive a $100 voucher to use toward the purchase of a phone they like.
