There is a product that is used to thicken and darken the eyelashes to produce the same or similar effect that is often sought with mascara or the application of eyelash extensions. This product is called Latisse. Grand Rapids women can take advantage of Latisse product and associated procedure to see growth of their eyelashes over a period of time. Latisse itself increases the number of eyelash hairs that grow and also extends the timeframe in which they grow.

In addition to Latisse being used for the growth of eyelashes, it has also been used to treat glaucoma. For those with inadequate eyelashes, this product can produce the results desired.

Application of Latisse
The product is applied by daubing some on the top line of lashes every night with the supplied sterile applicator. When you blink the product automatically extends to your bottom line of lashes. It is never to be applied to your lower lid or the eye itself.

It is important to wash your hands and face prior to the application of Latisse. All makeup should be removed first as well. Supplied in a single-use eyedropper, the application is to be made only one time per day and that on the upper lash line only. It’s also important to remove your contact lenses prior to application. Wait at least 15 minutes after application until you put your contacts back in your eyes again.

The applicator is to be discarded after a single use. Do not reuse the applicator. If done, you may incur the risk of an allergic reaction or eye infection. Latisse should be applied carefully and exactly only to the upper line of lashes to ensure only growth will be promoted with the eyelashes and no other hairs such as the eyebrows.

Expected Results
After about 8 weeks of applying the product on a once-per-day basis, you may begin to see results. Within about 3 to 4 months of product use, your doctor may prescribe a less frequent use, such as every other day.

If the use of the product is stopped the eyelashes will gradually return to their initial state. As with any prescription product or drug, be sure to learn about any possible side effects and precautions which are not covered or mentioned in this article.
